Cultural Diplomacy Training: Language Barriers
Monday April 20, 2026 2:35pm - 3:20pm EDT
Effective communication is key to building relationships, especially across cultures. In this session, you'll learn strategies and tools for navigating situations where a language barrier exists between you and an international visitor, colleague, or customer. No two people are the same, even if they share certain identities, and this session will support your approach to communicating when language barriers are present. True expertise comes with continuous learning, personal experiences, and interactions with diverse individuals, but this session will help you recognize language diversity, utilize non-verbal communication and translation tools, and develop confidence when words just won't cut it!
