Eric Cortes is Visit Philadelphia’s Senior Director of Social Media, overseeing the strategic development, implementation and day-to-day management of all social media activities with a focus on organic and paid social marketing. Cortes’ role has been at the forefront of influencer partnerships, engagement strategy and viral campaigns such as Bird Calls, In Pursuit of a More Perfect Union, and Come for Philadelphia. Having worked in media relations at Visit Philadelphia from January 2008 to April 2011, Cortes rejoined the organization in July 2021. In the interim, he held leadership roles in digital content strategy and social media engagement at PowerSchool and Culture One World. The New Jersey native and Kensington resident holds a journalism degree from Temple University and a master’s degree in writing studies from St. Joseph’s University. He serves on the boards of Taller Puertorriqueño and Photography Without Borders and was named to the “40 Under 40” lists of Impacto Latin Newspaper (2010) and City & State (2023).
